Manager, Strategy and Growth, Asia-Pacific/Japan

Position

Reporting to the Director of APJ Strategy and Growth and based out of Bidgely’s Mountain View HQ, you will be a key player in driving the growth for the company in Japan and other key APJ markets. As a multi-faceted contributor to our APJ operations, your role will have three key aspects.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of APJ Strategy and Growth and based out of Bidgely’s Mountain View HQ, you will be a key player in driving the growth for the company in Japan and other key APJ markets. As a multi-faceted contributor to our APJ operations, your role will have three key aspects.

Project Delivery: You will be responsible for rolling out Bidgely’s innovative UtilityAI service to our retailer/utility customers in APJ markets. You will utilize your outstanding project management, technical, and client engagement skills to deliver the solution on time and on budget to the customer. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading cross-functional teams in implementation of Bidgely solutions
  • Working jointly with the customer to translate their requirements into detailed project plans
  • Leading regular project-level customer and internal meetings on the status of the project

Account Management: You will work closely with APJ Sales team to accelerate Bidgely’s growth through generating of additional and recurring revenues at existing APJ customers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Tracking key success metrics post-launch to to both customer stakeholders as well as internal audiences
  • Driving technical workshops to help customers define their business case and go-to-market approach
  • Building and fostering relationships with stakeholders at our customer and partner organizations
  • Bringing ideas and feedback to our product and innovation teams based on your interactions with our customers

Pre-Sales: You will support and enable the APJ Sales team win new business in APJ markets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the APJ Sales team to ensure we are taking right approach in each sale, with specific focus on the Japanese market.
  • Acquiring a deep understanding of retail energy market, and how Bidgely can play a disruptive role in introducing artificial intelligence to the market
  • Becoming an expert in Bidgely’s products and technology, and influence Bidgely’s international product development plans and schedules

Requirements

  • BS/BA or equivalent degree; graduate degree from a top tier school strongly preferred
  • Full professional level written/verbal proficiency in Japanese and English
    • Ability to interface with Japanese customers on day-to-day project management duties in a self-sufficient manner.
    • Ability to engage in in-depth discussions on technical and non-technical topics over conference calls with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of success delivering complex, cross-functional projects with large enterprise customers
    • 5+ years of product/project/client management experience in technology-focused environment
    • Ability to plan and track projects via Wrike, Jira, or other modern project/task management tools
  • Track record in converting project-level success into future account-level business development opportunities
    • Ability to interface with customers at various levels—both strategically and tactically—and be persuasive
    • Ability to gather and present data-driven success metrics to internal and external audiences
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills; able to comprehend and communicate technical issues when working with the customer and our engineering teams
  • Proven ability to multitask on several simultaneous projects, with sharp attention to detail
  • Bright, relentless, good, and bold; open and highly collaborative mentality
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed
