Abstract

Dominion Energy South Carolina (DESC) transformed its Home Energy Checkup program from broad-stroke targeting to a precision strategy. Using the Analytics Workbench (AWB), DESC moved beyond basic usage and square footage to analyze disaggregated, end-use data. By layering filters for inefficient electric heat, high “always on” usage, and lighting consumption, they isolated a prime customer segment. This new group boasts an average annual consumption of 25.8 MWh, a dramatic increase from the 15.8 MWh average on previous lists. This session details how this targeted approach aligns specific customer needs with program offerings like smart power strips and LED lighting.
